Steel, aluminium, copper, plastics and coatings have different resistance. Include seals and markings.
Match the method
Manual, spray, immersion and ultrasonic cleaning require different foam, volatility and concentration properties.
Calculate process cost
Compare working-solution cost, time, heat, water and waste—not only concentrate price per litre.
Run a trial
Start at the lowest recommended concentration and record time, temperature, result, rinsing and substrate impact.
Define the required cleanliness level
A part may be prepared for painting, bonding, assembly or inspection. Each next step tolerates different residues, so the acceptance criterion comes first.
Check all materials in the part
Include seals, coatings, plastics, adhesives and markings. A cleaner safe for steel may still damage aluminium or elastomers in the same assembly.
Assess the complete process
Rinsing, drying, surface residue and the next operation matter as much as visible cleaning. A visually clean part may still fail painting or bonding.
