Confirm the plate technology

Record the full plate name, CtP or CtCP technology and the manufacturer’s recommendations. Do not assume compatibility from a similar product description alone.

Collect processor parameters

Check temperature, speed, contact time, replenishment, consumption and change intervals, as well as brushes and rinsing.

Choose the product form

A ready-to-use product reduces mixing risk. A concentrate may improve logistics but requires accurate dosing and suitable water.

Run a controlled trial

Change one parameter at a time. Record settings and evaluate background cleanliness, detail, coating resistance and press performance.

Define a control standard

Set measurement frequency, bath replacement criteria and responsibility after implementation.

Check exposure before changing chemistry

Unstable exposure can look like a developer issue. Verify platesetter calibration, optics, control strips and processor condition before comparing developers.

Use a bath-control record

Record temperature, conductivity, plate count, replenishment, replacement date and visual results. Trends are more useful than isolated measurements.

Evaluate the plate on press

A clean plate after processing is not enough. Check ink acceptance, non-image cleanliness, tonal stability and plate durability under a real production run.
