Confirm the deposit
A dull glassy film and uneven ink acceptance may indicate calcium glaze, although paper residue, damaged rubber and incorrect pressure can look similar.
Find the source
Calcium may come from paper, water, ink and additives. Review water hardness, fountain-solution conductivity and production history.
Use a two-stage process
First remove ink with the correct wash, then use a mineral-deposit remover as directed. Never mix cleaners or exceed contact time.
Remove chemical residue
Rinse or neutralise as instructed to protect rubber, metal and the next ink charge.
Prevent recurrence
Monitor rollers, water and fountain solution. Set cleaning frequency from condition and manufacturer guidance rather than an arbitrary calendar.
